PowerPoint Hyperlinks not processed correctly
I have just recently updated to PDF XChange 5 and hoped that the new version would be able to correctly process embedded MS Powerpoint Hyperlinks. Unfortunately this is not the case even though the conversion option in the Office COM Plugin has this feature available in the register "Links". I am using MS Office 2007 package. Is anybody aware of a workaround to this problem? Appreciate any input. I am working with PP regularly and also use hyperlinks a lot so this missing feature is decreasing the benefit of PDF XChange for me.
Regards,
Ernst

Re: PowerPoint Hyperlinks not processed correctly
Hello Ernst,
Can you please send us one such sample PP file for testing?
Maybe if you make the links for the whole text objects instead of for the text inside they will work?
Regards,
Stefan

Re: PowerPoint Hyperlinks not processed correctly
For your information:
I did a test with PowerPoint 2007 - SP3 and the PDF-Xchange Office plugin Version 5.0 build 273.2, and I can confirm :
the hyperlinks are NOT converted into hyperlinks in the PDF.
Same test with PowerPoint 2010 - SP2 and also PDF-XChange Office plugin :
the hyperlinks are CORRECTLY converted into hyperlinks in the PDF.
Work-around : If you do have PowerPoint 2007 (with at least Service Pack / SP2), then you can do a Save As > PDF or XPS.
The Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 internal PDF-converter does its job correctly and converts the hyperlinks.

Hi guys,
eblajs - Could you please send the PowerPoint file itself? I'm not able to reproduce this here, with anything that I create.

Hi Ernst,
You will first need to wrap the file in a ZIP folder or RAR/7Zip archive.

Re: PowerPoint Hyperlinks not processed correctly
Hi eblajs,
Thanks for that - this is converting correctly in MS Office 2013, so I'll need to setup a VM to test this in MS Office 2007 SP2. I'd like to do this in the OS that you're using - could you tell me your operating system details? (i.e. Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit)

Hi eblajs,
Thanks for waiting - I've managed to reproduce the issue using your specs. so I've created an internal Development ticket for this issue. The ticket number for this issue is RT-2391.
