Really small german translation issues

Post by Peter2 »

Some really small things - you don't need to answer: in German translation are still some English strings.

BTW: The German translation is very well done - it is not only translated word-by-word, it is really well formulated. :!:

Hi Peter,

I have sent a link to this thread to the German translator.

:-)

Hi,

I've added and tested the translations for the time stamp server options and for the unit inch. I also added a translation for the "Select Another File" option, but since it isn't shown on my system, I can't test it.

The printing progress caption and the cancel button seem not to be translatable at the moment.

Kind regards,
Michael

It appears when you have setting for "save - don't show dialogue - send alert if file already exists". Then take the same file (txt, doc, ..) and print it twice ...

Hi Peter,

it is build 191 that you are using? Can you tell me the name of the installer file you used because like Mike I don't see the option ou are describing. Perhaps I have misunderstood? As they say, 'a picture is worth a 1000 words'...

Yes, I use Build 1919.
My screenshot is added above. It is not in the "option dialogue" (there you have to select "show warning dialogue"), it appears after "spooling / optimizing" when the save-command founds an existing PDF.

Ok, I got it, the translation there is working as it should. You have to disable the "Save as" dialog in the options above and use automatic filename generation to get this option shown in the warning dialog. If the "Save as" dialog is shown in first place, this option is not shown in the warning dialog.

So, the "Cancel" button and the caption in the printing dialog remain untranslated. Since both strings are included in the language file, the strings seem to to be hardcoded somehow.

Kind regards

Thanks guys.

Mike, can you provide a screen shot of the dialogue that you cannot translate? It will help us identify what is happening.

cheers

Hi Paul,

sure, I've attached a screenshot. It's the printing progress dialog of PDF-Xchange. The "Cancel" button is never translated. The caption "PDF-XChange: Printing Progress" is not translated in the first step. In the following three steps "optimizing", "creating PDF" and "saving PDF" the translated caption "PDF-XChange: Druckfortschritt" is shown.

Kind regards
Michael

Another interesting thing (not hard, but for curious people)..

Changing the language displays the new language immediately - nearly. See attachment - nearly all changed from German to English, only the selected part stays in German. After closing the dialogue with OK and starting the dialogue again it will be displayed in English..

Hi Mike and Peter,

it does look like the issue is with us. We will correct what we can for the next build. There may be some things that are Windows and ofc these we cannot change.
