Is there a method for the email PDF

Post by fiscal » Mon Jul 02, 2012 2:43 am

Hi Craig,

I have looked through the class methods for the Ax, and whilst I can see SetCmdStateSendMail so that I can add it to any Ax toolbars, is there any way to code it so I can send files attached to emails from a list (with a hidden Ax)?

Thanks

Tony

Hi Tony!

Our Viewer 2.x doesn't support "silent" emailing directly.

If you have PDF-Tools, you do have the NetLib library which you could use with the Viewer ActiveX to email reports silently by using the SMTP interface.

Hi Craig,

Using the NetLib stuff seemed to me that it would not be sent via the default email client. Is that right? Also, it might be me, but when I use the ActiveX send email control on a toolbar it seems to fire up Outlook, and not Thunderbird?

Thanks

tony

Hi Tony!

Outlook vs. T'bird is a file association problem. You haven't set up T'bird as your MAPI client, so Outlook would be the default.

With NetLib you pick it. YOu can send totally silently using SMTP, or go the MAPI route if you want (same caveat as above).

SMTP requires you to provide all fields and all SMTP server information.

HTH!
