Problem with 2 printers

Hi,

i have installed the Printer Driver 2 Time. Works fine. Can Set values and events for both printers. Only one Problem.

ePrinter1 = Save to C:\eprinter1.bmp in RGB
ePrinter2 = Save to D:\eprinter2.bmp in BW

If i print from word to ePrinter1, it saves the file to c:\eprinter1.bmp right. If i dont close the document, and print now to eprinter2, it use the settings from ePrinter1.

Solution?

If i close word, and reopen it, and print then to printer 2 it works. Only if i change the printers in one word session the problem occurs.

Hi,

None of our Virtual printers are designed I am afraid for multiple installations using differing printer names.

You must define the required settings using the API/ActiveX - otherwise you will run in to issues as you have discovered.

Can you add this future? I think it´s easy to realize for you.....

otherwise the question:
If any user prints a document to the printer, the event "onstartdoc" raise in my app. But! The Document are already saved to Harddisk. I can´t change the settings (Quality, Format, and so on....) bevore storage or did i make a mistake?

Hello Victor,

This is a 5 year old topic :) so no you should not expect any problems. Just make sure to rename the first printer before installing the second in a separate folder.

HI victorwilson,

no, you can install multiple instances of the printer along side each other. That is a valid strategy for creating multiple set-ups if there is a reason to not use profiles.
