Esc does not cancel out EraserTool command

Post by rmcmanamy »

The line and pencil and most other tools if you hit the escape button it will exit the tool and go back to the hand tool. The Eraser tool though stays the eraser tool when you hit Esc.

Is "keep tool selected" on?
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.

Yes. But the rest of the tools even if you have the Keep Tool Selected enabled the Esc key will take it back to the hand or selection icon.

Hi rmcmanamy,

so the issue is that the eraser tool does not function in the same manner as other similar tools like for example the pencil tool?
Best regards

You've got it. It looks like the majority of them when you Esc will go back to the hand or select as you would expect. StickyNote, Line, Arrow, Oval, Polyline, Pencil, Polygon

But it looks like these all operate the same way and don't work properly
Eraser
All Text Tools (except the StickyNote) Highlight, CrossOut, Textbox, Typewriter

Thanks,
