Hello marcoscmonteiro,

It seems that there is a problem with jpeg decoding in this particular case. But due to that the PDF Viewer is a deprecated product and it won't be updated (except of the critical bug fixes), it's better for you to move to our new Editor SDK (or Core API).
BTW, this file is opening correctly in the Editor.

Cheers,
Alex

When we acquired Maintenance Plan for PDFXChange 2.5 SDK (2 years - TAR137773 - C - expires in 28 Feb 2017 UTC) new Editor SDK did not exists. So I imagine the bugs we encounter should be corrected until 28 Feb 2017. Or I am wrong?

Besides the change in our systems to use new SDK will be very complex. Meanwhile our users see documents in error.

Thanks in advance

Hello marcoscmonteiro,

We need to move from the Viewer SDK and on to the Editor one. As Sasha mentioned above - we will still keep the Viewer SDK around and fix any critical bugs we discouver in it, but we will no longer provide new features, or fix smaller issues like the current one you are experiencing with jpeg decoding.

As part of your maintenance plan we will continue to provide you with advise if you decide to stay with the Viewer SDK, so that you can utilize everything it has to offer fully. We can also offer you an upgrade to the Editor SDK with a discount equal to the cost of the Viewer SDK you already have as explained here.
Please contact sales@pdf-xchange.com for an exact quote.

Regards,
Stefan

I attached another document with same problem (repeats on latest version - 2.5.317). We are receiving many documents with this problem from our users because our business (State Court of Rio de Janeiro) requires to receive documents from many external users which uses many diferent types of programs to generate PDF documents.

The process to substitute the viewer are complicated to us (technically and burocratically). Any chance to correct this problem in next version? If not we will initiate the process to substitue PDFXChange Viewer to another viewer. There is a possibiliy to use new Tracker PDF Editor ActiveX but we will analyse other options.

If errors like this will not more be corrected why you continue to commercialize this product (PDFXChange ActiveX SDK)? Why it are not present on "Discontinued Downloads"? Your users can be deceived about it...

Regards

Marcos

Hello Marcos,

Thanks for the sample file. Unfortunately - there are no plans to continue developing the Viewer as said above. The Viewer AX is still available for purchase, as some developers have explicitly requested it, but we are warning each new client purchasing such a license of the limitations to future updates for that product.

So yes - please do consider moving to the Editor SDK. We would be happy to give you a discount for your existing Viewer AX SDK license if you decide to use the Editor one, so do have that in mind when making your decisions.

Regards,
Stefan
