Windows 10 support
Hi,
I'm having a "catastrophic failure" on the Viewer ActiveX component (Delphi XE) on Windows 10, that wasn't there on previous versions of Windows. But unlike a similar problem that we had with a previous version of PDF-XChange Viewer when Windows 8.1 came out, this time, the problem doesn't always show. It looks like either you have the problem in an .exe or you don't.
Anyone having similar experiences?
TIA,
Jan

Re: Windows 10 support
Do you use Viewer AX as registration free ActiveX (ClickOnce) or it is registered as ActiveX object ?

Re: Windows 10 support
I use a manifest file, but it seems not to make any difference when I register the ActiveX DLL.

Re: Windows 10 support
Can you please check any sample provided with Viewer AX installation?
I just checked on Windows 10 and everything works fine here.
Can you please provide more details about the issue?

Re: Windows 10 support
I'm also having a similar problem. When I run the app through Visual Studio, it seems fine. When I install and run the app, I'm getting a Catastrophic failure:
Source : Interop.PDFXCviewAxLib
Method : Void SetProperty(System.String, System.Object, Int32)
Date : 13:28:34
Time : 20/08/2015
Computer : 13:28:35
Error : Catastrophic failure (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8000FFFF (E_UNEXPECTED))
Stack Trace : at PDFXCviewAxLib.IPDFXCview.SetProperty(String Name, Object DataIn, Int32 Flags)
at AxPDFXCviewAxLib.AxCoPDFXCview.SetProperty(String name, Object dataIn, Int32 flags)
at Claro.BookReader.MainForm.tmrInitVoice_Tick(Object sender, EventArgs e)
I normally deploy reg-free COM using a manifest. I've also tried registering the Active X components manually but that didn't help. The example solutions from the Active X SDK installer all seem to work fine in Visual Studio.
This started happening when updating to Windows 10; there were no problems on Windows8/8.1.
Any ideas?

Re: Windows 10 support
Hi Aaron,
Exactly the same findings here: no problem with the demo applications.
I'm still trying to slim down my application to the smallest one possible that still has the problem...
Thanks,
Jan

If you will be able to get simple app that allows to reproduce the issue - please let me know.
Or let us know where we can get your app to try.

Re: Windows 10 support
I think I've fixed the problem. It turns out I was using older versions of the PDFXCview.dll and PDFXCview.exe
I updated to the latest ones and it works fine now.
Silly me!

OMG Same here!
I was pretty sure I had the last version installed!
The weird thing was that it worked sometimes.
Thanks,
Jan
