Hello Muralidhar,

For the moment we do not offer an OCR of our own but are just finalizing it and hope to have it ready for testing in the upcoming months.
If your project is urgent however, you will need to use some third party OCR engine I am afraid.

As for getting an object's stream you will need to use our PDF Tools SDK method:
PXCp_ObjectGetStream ()

Best,
Stefan

Hello muralidhar,

Yes you can use our xcscan4 library (part of the Tools SDK) to create PDF documents from scanners.

As for OCR Functionality - ABBYY offer an OCR Library for dev's, but I know that they have an end user version (and use our SDKs as part of their product).

WE also have our own OCR library which is now in beta testing here and will be released to dev's for beta testing in the very near future.

Best,
Stefan

When do you expect the OCR functionality to be available? I'm trying to determine which tool to use for my project and OCR will be a "nice to have" but it doesn't have to be in the first release of my project. I just need an idea of when it might be ready.

Thanks,
Reagan

Hello Reagan,

I do not have any particular date at this moment, but will ask the people who know and will post back here.

Cheers,
Stefan

Hi again Reagan,

I just spoke with the guys, and we hope to have a developers beta build out for testing in the next couple of months.

Best,
Stefan
