Can portable viewer set default print of "scalling type"?

I am having a problem with portable version of this viewer where when print it default to the following:
. Scalling Type: Tile large pages
. Page zoom: 60.0%

Whereas the none portable version default "Scalling Type" to "None" which work like Acrobat reader.

It is very annoying to people have to keep setting the "Scalling Type" each time to get it print correctly.

Can the portable version be configure to work like the none portable version or like Acrobat reader?

The portable version that we use is 2.0 (Build 54.0)

Hi chanh,

the portable version should also use the same default settings as the installed version. For the Portable Version this setting is stored in a file called "Settings.dat" that is kept in the same directory as the executable PDFXCview.exe. Most likely you have inadvertently made changes that have made their way into this file and the Viewer is setting them on launch. It is quite important that this file is writable.

2 things I'd have you try:

1. Change the settings to "None" and "100%" - complete the print job and then try again. Successfully printing with these settings should write them into Settings.dat (again must be writable) and subsequent print jobs should take this setting.

2. Try resetting your settings to default : Edit --> "Reset all Settings to Defaults..." - this too should make the appropriate changes in Settings.dat and be used next time. Note that this will reset all your settings so if you have made custom settings you'd like to be able to retrieve you might want to consider exporting them to another file first: http://www.docu-track.com/knowledgebase ... nge-Viewer

"reseting" fix the problem!

Now one more thing, the PDF file is in landscape mode and it is viewing correctly but when print it is preview as portrait rather than landscape. In Acrobat reader the view and print preview show the same way.

Can this be fixed?

The none portable version work like Acrobat reader whereas the portable version I have to check "auto rotate" and "auto center" for it works like the others.

Is this something wrong with my setup or is it quirk in the portable version?

as far as I understand the portable version should work the same way as the installed. Can you send us the file to look at? If posting on this forum be sure to zip it up else the forum will strip the attachment.

This a web page generated PDF file and it contain personal identifierable information so I affraid I can't send to outside.

if you cannot send us the file can you create one with other content that has the same issue? If you cannot I think the best we can do is suggest you use the "Rotate pages" option and keep an eye on things. If you come across another example that does not have sensitive content please send that to us.

I reproduce the issue using MSN.com and PDF creator.

Here is the file that should be in landscape and view in landscape but when print it just print in portrait if not check on "auto rotate"

my apologies - I must have made a mistake because when I open this file in both Portable and Installed Viewer I see the same behaviour - Rotate pages must be selected in both cases.

the dev team inform me that this is the expected behaviour.
