Changing tool bar layout

Post by MarshallAbrams »

I'd like to reduce the number of lines taken by toolbars etc at the top of the screen. "Properties" is on a line by itself. See attached screen shot. There is room on other lists for "properties", but I can't figure out how to move it up.

The Properties toolbar is context-sensitive, so it changes length depending on what kind of object is currently selected. It cannot be positioned beside another toolbar. Leave it floating and position it anywhere you want, or leave it off, and assign a shortcut to it.

You can also put some toolbar icons (not toolbars) beside the menus. Right-click on the new icons while customising to disable text to save space, edit button images, etc.

The interface is very customisable in PDF-XChange.

Hello MarshallAbrams and
thanks for the comments Bhikkhu,

Technically the Properties toolbar can be placed on one row with other toolbars, but as it is a dynamic one it will often "push" the others in a new line or it will go there if it is the last one on the row and there is not enough space for it to fit on it's current row when it has to expand to hold all the custom items for the selected tool.

So it is a good idea to leave it separate, and customize the others, or even create your own custom toolbars as per Bhikkhu's suggestion.

Best,
Stefan
