PDF-Xchange viewer crash

Post by Oldjim »

I downloaded this pdf http://www.atmos.colostate.edu/ao/Thomp ... te2009.pdf and when I try to search clicking on the Find Next Icon crashes the program in Windows 7 64 bit. Using build 42.8
This happens when using the Firefox plugin and also when running it independently

I'm having trouble with crashes also. Haven't found a particular pattern, but it's very bothersome
Another issue is that when I select a tool, pointer doesn't become that tool, so object/drawing does not work! I have to press Shift or switch tabs to get the tool active.

Is there ANY way to go back to 42.7... it worked great! and I don't have time for these kind of problems right now! I can't find 2.0.0042.7 anywhere!!

thanks

Fortunately I still had a copy of 41.5 which doesn't crash and interesting the portable version of 42.8 doesn't crash either

I also experience problems with crashes.
But only if the search term contains spaces, eg. "binary tree"

I managed to track down a site...after following many a Google link, that had a copy of 2.0.42.7 still. Thank Goodness. :D
2.0.42.7 has been one of the best versions for me .8 not so much... :x

I'd post it here if it's ok...

Sorry - but we have run out of time today - this will be available tomorrow rather than rush and release today.

Thanks for your patience.

I've just installed 42.9, and the viewer silently disappears, when I try to set and resize a stamp.

Build 42.9 removed from download now due to serious last-minute bug. Updated installers will be available in some hours.

Confirmed in build 42.9

Place stamp, resize it a few times.

I get a Microsoft Error report (I sent the report).

offset 0032aaa3

Just placing then moving the stamp causes the application to crash. (Again at offset 0032aa3)

Crashes quite often when searching with phrases consisting of two words. This is the log I get:

Application Failure pdfxcview.exe 2.0.42.8 in pdfxcview.exe 2.0.42.8 at offset 001ccd41

vvs, the bug with searching for multiple words in the Viewer was fixed with build 42.9.

All those that have tried 42.9 last night/this morning please download and try again - we have reuploaded the correct installation files.

Stefan

Bhikhu, ugradedeveloper, et al

I must apologize for this mess up. I am the one responsible for overwriting the download files with the incorrect versions. I believe we have sorted the issues out now. If anyone sees the wrong installer from a download after the timestamp of this post please advise so we can investigate.

Again, apologies for the inconvenience caused here.

sincerely

paul
