Have we forgotten or missed a bug you reported ?

This topic has been started, as it is our intention to pause and reflect a little before any major moves forward with the Viewer for the immediate weeks ahead and use the time to do some cleaning up of the application.

Please reply and post to this thread any issues/bugs that have been noticed in the product that we have missed or not fixed.

If you have reported previously - please copy a link to that forum message in your reply and ensure that any required files to demonstrate the issue are with that older message - or this one - do note that all files must be archived to a zip/RAR or 7z file - or they will not be posted.

PLEASE do not request any new or promised features here - only features that don't work - or bugs/problems that exist.

Please do not expect any further new builds aimed at extending product features for the immediate future - only updates providing one or possibly 2 new builds improving the reliability of the product.

Hi, I think it wasn't reported before - and actually it's more a PDF-XChange issue. It came with the integration of the viewer into the PDF-XChange package.
The names of the components in the installation process aren't helpful at all and a new user will probably not know, what to select if he likes only to install a specific component.

As example - I'm using the PRO package, there the components are:

Languages files <-- These are the language files for PDF-XChange / PDF-Tools

Live Update for PDF-Viewer 
Help file <-- Again a component "Help file" - this time for the viewer

Addin for Internet Explorer <-- This is the component to display PDFs in browser
Addin for Mozilla FireFox
Shell Extensions

It should be possible to find some names, to make it clearer what features the specific component provides. On the one hand it's just a cosmetic issue, on the other it's pretty irritating if you don't know about the old installers.

Shortcuts for Cross-out text, Highlight Text, and Underline Text do not work. For example:

1. Customise dialogue
2. Commands, Tools, Highlight Text (not Highlight Text tool — that works OK)
3. Prperties, assign shortcut Shift H
4. Select some text with the text select tool
5. Press Shift H

Result: No change.

Expected: Text to be highlighted.

There are some elements, which couldn't be translated at the moment:
In the viewer:
- open a document
- display document properties [Ctrl+D]
- click on Additional Metadata
- while the "Advanced" page is translatable, the "Description" page stays in English all the time.

The shell extension seems to be completely untranslatable at the moment. (Tooltip and file properties -> PDF Information tab)

In the printer driver, the IE toolbar isn't translatable at the moment.

The translation tools report no missing strings!

Just another translation issue. I just used the summarize comments feature and realized, that all texts created in the summary are in English - can you make these strings translatable - or for "author", "date", ... use the already translated strings from the corresponding annotation functions.

Hi Ralf,

1: This is an issue for us - as we do not have the printer you have to test and resolve, and we cannot reproduce or see any reason for this in the tests we can run ..

2: This is resolved - but due to the fact that access to your HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT - Admin permission is required - so if you dont have this - you wont see the benefit of the fix.

3: Again this is resolved - please run your installer with the switch '/Help' via the command line and you should see this - if not please advise what you do see...
