import certificate into PDF X Change Viewer

Post by paul_techy »

My friend emailed me a pdf with her digital signature signed in Adobe Standard 5. When I open the pdf using PDF X Change Viewer and click on her signature it shows invalid signature. How can I import her signature cert (I think) so that PDF X Change Viewer can validate it automatically.

I am using PDF X Change Viewer v2 build 42.1

any updates on this?
the validate all option is available. I hope this function works. It will be a big feature for our company. Plus I just purchased the
Pro viewer version for this purpose.

Hi.
We will need a signed file to see what is wrong. For now - the Viewer does not support all possible types of signatures, so some of them may look invalid even if them are valid.

You may send it usihg Help->Report a problem menu in Viewer (preferred), post here or send directly to Ivan@tracker-software.com.

Please provide a link back to this topic in the message body if not posting here.

And, by the way, you have used wrong forum.

Should I move this post to the correct forum? What is the correct forum?

Wouldn't you need a certificate file of my test signature to install on your system which will allow PDF X Change Viewer to match validation. If you do need the certificate file what file format do I use when exporting.

Otherwise I can just send you my document with my test signature.

To install certificate on your system you can:
1. click on signature field - you should see "Signature Properties" dialog
2. Press "View Certificate..." button
3. On "Certificate" dialog there should be button "Install Certificate..." (but it depends from the OS, because viewer uses Crypto API to work with certificates).

By the way, for now viewer doesn't provide complete certificate validations - it should be implemented into the next build.

And viewer doesn't require to have installed certificate to verify signature, so, it is not a reason. To say why viewer says certificate is INVALID, I need to have this signed PDF file.

For now we are working to add some new functionality to the next build (File attachments and XFA forms), and estimate to release new build in about 2 weeks if all goes well.

Also in PDF X Change Viewer is the eye "watermark" by the esignature part of the demo and will not appear on the pro version.

No, "eye" watermark isn't a demo label. It is a part of standard signature appearance created by PDF-XChange.

- is there any workaround to remove the eye watermark. Currently it prints out only half an eye which doesnt make sense to have it there.

-did you get me sample e-signature via email and had a chance to test it out

thanks

Hi, to sign a document without the "eye watermark", go to the signing dialog, click on "Manage..." in the "Sign Template" line, select the template from which you like to remove the watermark, click "Edit" and uncheck "Display Logo" or clone the template and edit the copy, to keep the default templates.

Then select your template without the logo to sign a document.
