Hi, Puffolino

This file appears to display fine in the latest version of the Editor 9.0.352.0. Are you fully updated before trying to open this document? If you are, could I ask you to please send us screenshots and identify the pages where the issues you are seeing appear?

Kind regards,

Hi,

The problem goes about PDF-XChange Viewer - current version 2.5.322.10, not about PDF-XChange Editor - current version 9.0.352.0

See screenshots of page 2 from the document referenced in Puffolino's post.
All the other pages have similar problems in PDF-XChange Viewer.

In PDF-XChange Editor there is no warning about an error in the document and the presentation is correct.
Sanitizing the PDF (in Editor), filters the problem away. Optimizing does not help.

Best regards.

Hi, Willy Van Nuffel

I see, Unfortunately the Viewer has been discontinued for years now, and is only seeing critical security patches, no more bugfixing of this ilk will be happening there. If these files work fine in the Editor, the best I can suggest to anyone having this issue in the Viewer is to update to the Editor instead, as the successor to the viewer.

Hi, I know the viewer program has been discontinued. But (beside of some few issues) it's a perfect solution for just viewing a PDF quickly even from a memory stick.

Maybe a the new editor could be set into a viewing only mode, disabling all edit functions. So what about an additional PDFXView.exe as a launcher for the viewer mode?

Hi, Puffolino

Unfortunately, without building an entire separate application specifically for this purpose, which we will not be considering at this time, simply disabling the editing features would not result in an faster opening that you currently see in the Editor.

The best option I could offer as a "lite" viewing mode that the editor offers, is to open the file explorer in fullscreen, and make the preview pane there larger, that may see a slight increase in speed compared to the Editor, and would disable all the editing features as you have requested.
