PDF Xchange Viewer crashing while PDF is open

Post by bwagoner »

Has anyone else ran into an issue where Viewer just crashes while a pdf is open and throws this error. Tried reinstalling and it still keeps doing this like it times out the file. I know it is outdated it is just what i'm used to using so I have been reluctant to switch to Editor.

Hi, bwagoner

This error typically indicates an issue in your connection to networked files. If for example you are on a wireless network, moving the device could cause you to switch access points, which may result this message. Much to the same effect, switching between a wired and wireless connection can result in this error, if you are hardwired to the network, please disable wireless connectivity on your device to avoid windows switching which is used and mitigate this issue.
Finally, this is known to happen quite often when putting your device to sleep while working on networked files.

To avoid all three of these situations, the simplest solution is to save a local copy of the file and work on it there instead of directly from the network resource.

Regarding updating, You mentioned that you are reluctant because you are more used to the viewer. The Editor does still offer our Classi UI, which is similar to the Earlier Editor layout, but can be compressed to appear more like the viewer. The Editor is also a separate application from the Viewer, so if you want to "ease into it" you can actually install both the Editor and the Viewer side by side on the same machine. Continue using the viewer for urgent tasks, and learn to use the Editor slowly on your own time.
