I create a pdf file by other means.
Then I add some annotations (text comments, underlying, arrows) to the pdf file using PDFXChange Viewer.
Now I want to recreate the pdf file, and add back the annotations.
So I was wondering if I can export the annotations on the pdf file into an annotation file, and then import the annotations from the annotation file to the new pdf file?
If exporting and importing annotations of pdf file can't be done in PDFXChange Viewer, can that be done in PDFXChange Editor or some other software?
Thanks.
How can I export and import annotations out of and into a pdf file?

Thanks, Will!
Can exporting and importing annotation files from and into pdf files be done using some command line programs in terminals?
I ask this because I am a heavy user of command line programs in terminals.
By command line programs, I mean either produced by your company or produced by other parties?
This also lead to a related question: is the annotation file format portable to and recognizable by programs produced outside your company, or just used only by the products in your company?

Hi Tim,
Thanks for the post - This isn't something that can be done with the Editor, but can be done using PDF-Tools with the /RunTool command:
https://help.pdf-xchange.com/pdfxt ... ons_t.html
A license for PDF-Tools includes the Editor and PDF-XChange Lite. PDF-XChange Pro includes Tools, the Editor Plus & XChange Standard:

Cheers,
