PDF-XChange frequently crashing and restarting

Good afternoon,
I am experiencing a very frustrating situation with PDF-XChange right now. This has been going on for a couple of months but I have now had enough of it. PDF-XChange just keeps crashing out or randomly restarting without any warning. Usually, when it crashes I lose all opened documents and so I have to start all over gathering all documentation I may have been working with.

I do not understand why this keeps happening and how to stop it. I have tried reinstalling but that has not resolved the issue. This is extremely frustrating right now. Can anyone help?
Thx

Hi Ferdinand,

Thanks for the post - Please make sure that you are using the latest release:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/downloads

If that doesn't help, I'd recommend that you change to the Editor, rather than the Viewer, as the Viewer was replaced by the Editor several years ago and is no longer supported. It's also worth noting that the Editor has an autosave feature that will help, should it crash.

Thanks,

I am already using the Editor, version 7.0 (build 328.1). Surely, it is not normal for it to be creating the number of issues that I am experiencing? As I have said, I have tried reinstalling several times but that does not help.

Hello Ferdinand Che,

Indeed it is not normal for the Edito to create as many issues as you are experiencing, however Build 328.1 did have some issues along these lines which we have resolved in build 328.2. Can you please update the software via Help > Check for updates. Then restart your PC and ensure that the editor reports this build under help > about?

If the update does not help, please follow the steps here to setup crash logging, and inform us when the files are present on our file server.

Kind regards,
