Do I have to install version 1.018

I recently downloaded the zip file for that version when I posted a problem I was having. So was thinking whether I had to install it all over again, or was unzipping the files also equivalent to installing it?

Hi,

No - unzipping simply unpacks the installer - .exe file - you must start this (double click) to progress the install.

If you are referring to the viewer specifically - provided you have a later version - you can use the update option under the 'Help' drop down menu in the Viewer to download and install the Viewer updates - without the need to download a zip file and install at all though.

I meant that I downloaded the pre-release (beta) version of PDF-X as noted here:

just a couple of days before it was released, and unzipped them as instructed in the thread above. so do i still need to "re-install" the new version. actually, everything is working quite well now. i was just thinking that there might be additional functions, features, bug fixes, whatever that wasn't included in the version I have since i got it before (around 3 days) before the actual release.

Yes. There was some modifications (including saving files) since the build you have.
