How to change Author in text tool properties

Post by benpal »

In the text tool properties there is an Author name which supposedly is picked up from the Windows user profile (account). Can this name be changed permanently, other than by creating a new user account in Windows? Is it stored as a registry value under PDF-Viewer or in a configuration file?
This name is visible in the sticky notes. Since I'm using my PC both privately and professionally, I would like to be able to change that name permanently.

Thanks

Yes, I noticed this too. You can change the author on a given entry, but I can't seem to find a way to change it permanently. Often, the username is not a good choice for this. While someone named John Smith may have a username of jsmith, smith, john which can be easily identified, they may also have a username that looks like plaintext.

I did notice a registry key named Identity that wasn't set, but from a quick test, that doesn't appear to be related.

Thanks for confirming liam193.

In my case it's especially disturbing, because I took over my PC from somebody else and I would have to reinstall a lot of programs if I wanted to create a new user profile (have been there and abandoned).

I would appreciate if the user name could be changed permanently, together with the other default settings for the tools.
