Font type viewer

Post by Cherry »

Hi there,

Is it possible to change the PDF' font type with the free version ? If not, is it possible with the licenced one ?
I hate serif font and I'd like to make my reading easier with a non serif font.

Thank you very much.
And by the way, if it's not possible on the free version, would you know some PDF viewer (free) on which it is ? Because I'm fuc**** trying to find something because I'm reading a lot, and I really need something working on windows 8.

Cherry.

Hi Cherry,

Thanks for the post - this can be done using the Edit Content Tool, and doesn't require a license. Please see here for specific instructions:

HTH!
If posting files to this forum, you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded.
Thank you.

HTH!
Thank you very much. However, it's not always working great (depends on the pdf). I tried with two and the first was ok, but the second one, I couldn't change the font and it's copying the text then changing the font hence I have superposed texts ; the original one and the copied one. Would you know why it's doing that and if I can do something about it ?

Thanks again.
Cherry.

Hi Cherry,

I'm afraid that I can't really advise without a sample that displays the problem. If you do not want to make the sample publicly available, then you can send it directly to support@pdf-xchange.com.

Thanks,

Thanks,

I'd love to make the sample publicly available but unfortunately, I can't upload any screen shot in this post. So I send an email.

Thank you.

Hi Cherry,

We'll need the actual PDF to help further, as we cannot tell why this would be happening from a screen-shot.

Thanks,

Let's hope that Cherry is using PDF-XChange Editor and not the Viewer ...
- Editor: https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product ... nge-editor
- Viewer: https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product ... nge-viewer

And probably the problem with particular files goes about PDF's that have been created by "scanning" printed papers and applying Optical Character Recognition (OCR). In that case, there will be indeed two layers and it will seem that it is not possible to change the text, nor to change the font.

If the scan and the ocr are of good quality, then the following method can be used to edit the text:

Best regards.

Hi Willy,

Thanks for your input.

Cherry, Please also note that to post images to these forums they must be saved in a zip file and that zip file uploaded.

Cheers!
