Re: Differences between packages for installing the viewer?
Hi Tim,
The ZIP installer is just the EXE installer, wrapped in a ZIP file. This buffers the download and leads to less corrupted/incomplete downloads.
The EXE installer is just a regular installer, the kind of installer that you normally see when installing an application.
The Portable Version is the Portable Viewer. It does not need to be installed. The files simply need to be extracted to the same folder, then it will run.
The Portable Version (OCR Lang Files) are the OCR language files for the Portable Viewer. They allow other languages to be OCR'd.
The MSI installers are Microsoft's own installers and are usually far better for mass-scale, corporate deployments than EXE's. The appropriate architecture of installer (32/64-bit) should be chosen, to match the architecture of your operating system.
The Language Localization Tool is also know as the "Translation Tool" and allows users to translate our software into different languages.'
