Color rendering error

PDF-XChange Viewer ver 1.0 RC1 Build 0005

The color rendering isn't true.

In our Grand Lodge newsletter, NWIN of November, 2006 displays a picture of our President on the front page. She looks like she sipped some bad "Dago Red". :D Also, throughout the letter colors are misrepresented. Newsletter attached. Seems the Reds and Blues got somewhat switched.

Hi Don,

We can see a problem with the image color's but not the text issue - any chance we could ask for a 'screenshot' of what you see in PDF-XChange and Adobe Viewers on your system ?

Thanks.

The attached file contains two AR images and two PDFV images of the same pages.

Note the red in the seal seems to render correctly but in the picture and other graphic incorrectly. :?:

If additional information is required on the types of images that were used in the NWIN publication, I can make inquiries on this end.

Follow up:

I asked the provider of the of the newsletter of the color rendering problem what pdf creating program he uses.

"I still use Acrobat Distiller version 4" was his response.

Hope this helps find the gremlin.

Take care,

I installed version 1.0RC1 Build 0006 and the color rendering still errs.

Hi Don!

I think this one's still "in the shop."

I believe I mentioned that John V. is out for a few days.

I'll mark this for his attention when he returns.

Hi Don,

this issue is in hand and will be resolved as soon as we incorporate the new JPEG dedcoder we have recently completed for inclusion in the Viewer Library.

Color rendering - updated

At the start of this thread I reported the color rendering was flawd, blues and reds were conflicting and sent a copy of our NWIN letter showing the problem. Yesterday, the December issue of NWIN was made available and the color rendering (blues and reds) displayed correctly. It took a couple of attempts of opening the 16 page letter to display the image on page one but it was correct. I went back to the November issue (the one I sent you) and it still misrepresented the blues and reds of the picture on page one. The author of the newsletter is still using the same version of Adobe Distiller (noted in the properties shown in PDF Viewer). To make a good copy of the newsletter, I ran it through PDF-XChange and now I have a excellent copy of the November issue. Adobe Distiller out of date?

Hope this helps.

Hi Don,

This is I can confirm is more our issue than Adobe's and will be resolved in the final release with our new JPEG decoder.

I have checked on progress today and it is likely to be available just before the christmas holidays.
