Previous view - position stored where?

Post by fghj »

Hi,

just a question out of interest: Where is the information about the previous view being stored? Is there a general place for all the files or is the information attributed to the file itself? When I opened hundreds of PDF which I will never use again, is there a possibility to delete the saved position to save "space"? Just like with the last used documents, I don't like the idea of an endless history of my views :)

Thanks!

Hi fghj,

The information for the last view of a document is stored in the registry for the "recent" files. If a file is not on the recent list - it's default view mode (specified in the file itself) would be used the first time you open it.

As for the current (and previous) views information while you are working with the Viewer is stored in the RAM - as the Viewer is active and running. Once you restart the Viewer this information is lost.

Best,
Stefan

Okay, it is good to know that the previous view is only saved for the files on the recently used list. And it is stored in the registry.

Thank you for the fast answer! :)
