Problem with tiled printing

I have an A3 landscape PDF comprising of two A4 pages, I want to split the file into two pages so I thought I would print the file from PDF-Viewer using the tiled printing option. It all sets up OK and previews correctly in the print dialog, but after clicking on the print button the program crashes:

I have tried on two different computers one an old XP machine and also a nearly new Windows 7 Pro machine.

thanks for the report. I tried doing that here to my Brother printer and had no problems printing to 2 A4 pages. I did have to reduce the size to 95% to get it to fit on 2 pages because my printer cannot print all the way to the edges but I don't think that makes a difference.

I think, since this is happening on 2 different machines that the issue is more likely how PDF-XChange Viewer is talking to your printer's driver. To investigate this we first need you to do two things:

1. Check that you are using the latest build of the Viewer. it should be Version 2.5 (Build 208) - Help --> About PDF-Xchange Viewer. If it's not please update the Viewer and try again . (Help --> Check for Updates...)
2. Go to the printer manufacturer's web site and look to see if a newer driver is available for your printer. if there is please install it and test again.


If the issue persists with the latest Viewer and Printer driver please send us alink to where we can download the driver you are using and we will test it here.

I thought I explained that I was printing to the PDF-Xchange printer and that the problem was with the PDF-Saver module. Sorry for not being explicit enough. I too can print to conventional printers but that is not what I want to do.

I managed to reproduce that on my machine with your file - so going to pass it along for further investigation.
In the mean time you can use our Lite printing driver - it will correctly generate the new PDFs.

Hi Barry,

You can download it from here:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product/pdf-xchange-lite
And if you have a Pro license key (PXP50-) it will not work with the Lite driver, but if you have a Viewer one (PVP20-) it will.
Please DO NOT post your full license key in the forums!

And alternatively - you can get the "free for home/academic use" version and install it temporarily while we are investigating the issue with the standard driver.

And have provided information that will help my colleagues from the dev team locate and fix the problem with the Standard drivers asap.
