Problem with access to Printer settings

Post by pmalecki »

Hi,
we are using the Canon printers (multifunction all-in-one printers), which have "fat" drivers and support "Profiling". Profiling means that user is able to define multiple named profiles combining e.g. single-side, double.side, color, b/W etc settings.

I have defined a set of such a profiles for the printer and they are visible and accessible to applications except... PDFXchange. :-(

The situation is shown on two attached screenshots.

Do you have any idea aht could be the reason of this?

Regards
Piotr

Hi pmalecki,

Thanks for the post - I'm not actually seeing this same issue here, so the first thing that I need you to do, is to make sure that you have the latest build (208). If that doesn't solve the issue, then try getting the latest print drivers for your printer.

If neither helps, then let me know; we'll dig deeper!

Thank you.

Hi Will,
after an intensive investigation of the problem, I found that it's not PDFXchange topic. The reason is that Total Commander 8.01 x64 (I use it instead of Windows Explorer) launches PDFXchange in a context which differs from the context applied by the Windows Explorer. This leads finally to some mismatch of rights etc and unpredictable behavior of PDFXchange. Anyway not PDFXchange's business.... :-)

Sorry for my "false alert" here.

Thanks for your always kind assistance.

Regards
Piotr
