Create bookmarks from a word doc to pdf

If we have a word document with a TOC or index can we convert in bookmarks when we convert the documents to pdf ?

With the free tool ?
With any other tool ?

Can we create bookmarks automatically in any other situation ?

Yes you can - the product required would be either PDF-XChange Standard or PDF-XChange PRO (not the Viewer PRO) these 2 products install our virtual print driver with an MS Office Addin that allows MS Word TOC's and other style based items to be automatically converted to Bookmarks when generating a PDF - provided you use the MS Toolbar Addin provided by PDF-XChange.
