Hi,

Can I hide something in a pdf by overlaying an opaque white rectangle? I don't see how to do it.

Thanks.

Dave

Just be careful, as the original content is still there underneath. If the recipient is just using a plain viewer it will be OK. If they have full PDF editing software then they would be able to find and delete the blank text box see what is underneath (if they could be bothered to look for it). It depends how important the information is and how secure you need it to be. If you want to be sure then hide the content, then export as an image, then save the image back to a new PDF.

Thanks for the tips denzil!

Yes that is indeed the correct way to fully remove the hidden content if the information hidden is sensitive/restricted.

And you can then OCR the new PDF file so that it's contents is still searchable :)

Stefan

It is enough to "print" your PDF with hidden content to PDF with some PDF virtual printer (such as PDFCreator). (only 4 times "PDF"? :D )
