Mutiple selection

Post by newnews »

Hello:

I have three questions:
1. How to select multiple objects for copy/paste or vertical/Horizontal alignments etc.
2. How to rotate an object? I inserted an object and I want to rotate it by certain degree.
3. How to input the text in vertical direction e.g. from down to up

Currently I am using PDFill Editor which has such functions, but I wish to go back to x-change.

thanks

Hi newsnews,

The first 2 questions will be included features of the new PDF-XChange Viewer scheduled for release end of Sept.

I see if the vertical text is planned as well and get back to you on it.

Best,
Chris

Great news. Multiple selections is something I've really been missing. Will multiple selection also allow grouping of several items? I regularly deal with scanned PDFs originating from the same template, and highlight data in the same locations on each one using PDFXchange. It would be good to be able to work with these as a group to copy between documents.

Hi westglow enterprises,

Yes selecting multiple objects should allow you to copy/move them simultaneously though permanent "grouping" might not be possible.

HI Stephan,

that feature is to be a part of the new V3 Viewer that is not released yet. It's still on track for the end of the year so we'll have to wait just a little longer.

...almost there... ;-)

Paul

Hallo,

is there any progress yet in implementing a multiple selection tool in xchange viewer and is it possible to turn objects and text with a certain angle?
(xchange pro licensed)

Thanks

Hello Eric,

And welcome to our forums.
Both of these features are already available in the PDF-X Editor:
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/product ... nge-editor
which is the successor of the current Viewer.

Hello Stefan,

Thanks for your reply. I´ve just tried out the x-editor. If this is the successor of the viewer, in my opinion it is a big step backwards with only a little step forward, isn´t it?
No chance to edit text made with the viewer?
How is it possible to turn/scale images made with the viewer? I can mark it, turn it, but after doing it the image stays in it´s old place, angle and size?
It is very difficult to selcect if there are more objects in overlay (clouds, lines etc.).

Is it necessary to work with both, viewer and editor doing one step after the other?

What works really good, is to turn coloured areas.

Best regards

Hi Musseler,

there has been quite a bit of discussion about this topic here on the forum so with all due respect, with a little reading you would find out that the Editor was released on a particular date without all the Viewer features so to honour our commitment to release it after several delays. It was decided that our loyal users needed to see things as they were without further delay and to then add the missing features over the next few releases.

There is a new release due out soon that will add many more of the Viewer features and not too far in the future it will truly replace the Viewer with all that the viewer has and the advancements of the Editor.

I hope that helps.

Sincerely
Best regards

Hello Paul,

your message is really spreading happiness in my office. We are working with architectural drawings to produce fire-protection plans. So a lot of lines, clouds and images have to be added, scaled and turned, often in a small place on the pdf. Some say, we should work with CAAD, but after trying out this with several CAD-Applications we decided to work with the viewer. It´s just faster and more effective working.

So we are happy to read, that hopefully all functions of the viewer will be found in the new editor.

Thanks and best regards

Hello Eric,

Actually there's a new build coming next Monday - that will have pretty much all features of the current Viewer, so for 99% of all use cases you should be able to switch from the Viewer to this new build of the Editor - and also get the benefit of all the new features added!

Cheers,
Stefan
