Hello,

perhaps you could include the current documentation (PDFVManual.pdf), i think 2.5.201, in the setup packages - i use PDF X Change Pro - the "Live Update" find's it after every new build install, because an outdated version is included.

we used to include the manual in the installer but the decision was made to remove because it made the download file so much larger due to its comprehensive nature. A fresh installation will not install on old manual just a single page with a link to install the manual. This way the installer is kept smaller and users can 'optionally' choose to download the current manual if they so choose.

screenshots from the help directory, i used the current exe-installer for Pdf X-Change Pro, trial in a virtual test environment:

a) after clean install, a pdf manual with 205 pages from 2011

b) after the update, a pdf manual with 209 pages

With a msi viewer/editor i looked in the 64 Bit installer (PDFXC5Pro_x64.msi), it looks like the old manual is included too, same in the 32 bit msi installer.
The viewer only msi files seems to contain the (old?) manual too.

Its not really a problem, the update overwrites the existing old manual, but i think its more practicable to include the current documentation or no documentation.

I bet the small exe installer and portable file from the viewer are without the helpfile, how the download notes tell.

Hi verwirrt,

looking at the file sizes in the MSI installers I suspect you are right. I've mentioned this to the developer who does the MSI installers and we will change this - either include the up to date manual or do as in the exe and offer the manual for download.

Of course this cannot be changed now until the next build.
