Text problem

Post by bluknight12 »

I recently purchased the Pro Version and now seem to have a problem in typewriter mode.
As I type the text appears to be correct, but when I go to print and see the preview the
text appears to be just square blocks. When it prints out it is square blocks.
I am using a Samsung ML 2525 laser printer. Did not have this problem with the free version.

Hi bluknight12,

Could you post an example PDF that exhibits this behavior? Do that and we will be happy to take a look for you.

Regards,
Jamie

Hi bluknight12,

I was not able to see the black boxes in my preview and your document printed perfectly. I suspect it could be a challenge with your printer driver. What is the make and model of your printer?

Regards,
Jamie.

Hello bluknight12,

I was also unable to reproduce the problem with build 200 and all th eprinters I have at my end, so we will see to investigate this further, but in the mean time please try the "print as image" option in our Viewer - and see if the output is correct with this enabled.

Also I see that this file was modified with build 200 of our Viewer so you have the current latest one, but can you please let us know if you used the .exe or .msi installation package?

Best,
Stefan

thank you for your help so far. I used the .exe install.

In tinkering around with this issue, I just noticed that if I save my work and close the program down
and then open it up again, everything seems to be OK. the blocks do not appear and the text previews
and prints correctly.

Hello bluknight12,

Thanks - that clarified the situation. I managed to reproduce this - so I created a ticket in our internal system:
#1378: Viewer 2.5.200: Text added with the typewriter tool is garbled when printed if the Viewer is not rest
To allow us to track and fix this. We will keep you updated with all news on this case.

Best,
Stefan

Hello again bluknight12,

Actually it turns out that this problem is the same as the one here:
https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/ ... 169#p55169
And it's already resolved. The fix will be in build 201.

Best,
Stefan
