PDF-XChange Viewer can't copy text / click on link

Post by menes »

Hello,

I have a pdf that I can't copy text and can't click on the http link. However opening with adobe reader I have no such problems.

Unfortunatelly I can't attach the file in public. Can you tell me where to send it on order to check what is the problem?

TIA

Hi menes,

Please forward us a zipped copy to support@pdf-xchange.com and include the URL for the forum post so we can have a look at it for you.

Best,
Chris
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.

Hello George,

Thanks - we got your file and I created a ticket in our internal system:
#1278: Viewer 2.5.198: Can not copy text or click on the link in this file
So that we can track this case, and we keep you updated with any news on this case.

Best,
Stefan

Hello George,

After checking this file we must say that there is no text in the standard expected of a PDF document.
We are not currently sure what Adobe does to be able to select text in your sample, but we do not even know how they might be doing it.

For now I am afraid that the guys had to reject this case, as they are focusing on finalizing ver3 of our Viewer. Once it is ready we might once again come back to this, but for the moment we can offer no solution.

Best,
Stefan
