Re: View a pdf with multimedia elements : mp4
At this moment, there is a problem to play some mp4 video in PDF-XChange Editor.
A ticket has been made for trying to resolve this.

When the mp4 is embedded in the PDF like an attached file, then it should normally play with your default Windows media player.
Kind regards.
Willy.

Hello Willy Van Nuffel,
Thanks for the feedback!
Indeed there could be some issues - but also some other embedded content should still work fine!
Kind regards,
Stefan

Hi Esgrimidor,
this is a sample of a video file attached to a PDF. It is not quite the same as an "embedded" video and there is currently no way to make a link in the PDF to play the video. You just have to launch the attachment (double click from the Attachments Pane).
https://www.pdf-xchange.com/VideoAttachment.pdf
For it to be truly embedded and have a link to it in a document you will have to wait for that feature, RT#5601: PDF-XChange Editor does not play video, to be delivered.
I added a reference to this thread, your email, and raised the priority of this ticket. At the end of the day, the decision as to when this will be done will remain with the development team leader.
I hope that helps.

You could also think about using the "File Attachment Tool" (paperclip / attachment pin) in the comments and placing this over an image of the first frame of the video. This would make the attachment more 'visible'.
Best regards.

Hello Willy Van Nuffel,
Love the idea!
Indeed the death of Flash has caused some troubles with PDF files as well, but as Paul mentioned above - we are working on alternatives!
Kind regards,
Stefan
