Hi Steve,

The builds are all available now from http://www.tracker-software.com - it may take a little while before this is reflected on the web pages in terms of the file dates etc - you can download from the trial pages or the link you were given a purchase time if you are licensed.

New problem with JPEG compression

Hi All,

I downloaded this build.

It fixes the original problem with compressing Black and White images to CCITT Group4 compression.

It seems to have intoduced a new problem with colour images.

If you compress a 24bit color file using JPEG, no error occurs but the page cannot be viewed properly in 3rd-party viewers.

In Imaging for Windows the message is "The document's format is invalid or not supported".
In IrfanView the page displays, but the white background shows as red.

To see this, refer to the sample project in my previous e-mail, and change the following 2 lines:-

Code: Select all

            mySaveFormat.imgType = ImType_rgb_24bpp ' 24bit color
...
            mySaveFormat.CompressionMethod = ImCompression_JPEG
The build 64 version worked correctly with the above 2 lines, build 65 gives the problem.

Any ideas ?

Steve

Hi Steven,

In your code you have :

'mySaveFormat.CompressionLevel ???? '

Please change this to a value - i.e.

mySaveFormat.CompressionLevel = 75
This can be any value from 1-100 - with 100 offering the least compression, bigger files - but better quality.

If this does not help - please zip and attach the PDF generated.

Please note we cannot replicate this issue here.

Hi Steve,

I have just spoken to the dev manager - we have found the issue and we hope to fix ASAP - will try and release build 66 later this week with this resolved - apologies but it was an unforeseen consequence.
