old dlls not removed

Post by ADeeg » Tue Aug 22, 2006 4:43 pm

Hi support,

our developer modified our program code to handle the new pdf driver 3.60104. We are using the 3.40083 before.

The Problem is that the new silent installer PDFX3SA_sm.exe does not remove the following dlls from the older driver.

1. fm30xmf.dll
2. xcpars30.dll
3. xcpro30.dll

so we get an error message on application start:
entry point isvs_getStdRoutinesPtr not found in dll ixclib30.dll

After clearing the 3 dlls manually everything works fine. But we have 100+ client sites using the pdf functions. It is not possible to force all of them to clear this dlls manually.

So is it possibe for you to modify the installer to clear these old dlls during silent installation of the new 3.60104 installer ?

Many thanks in advance

Regards Armin

Hi Armin,

yes I can understand this - we are looking to create a small utility that you can include with your installation and call to search and remove any redundant dll's - the crucial one at this time being fm30xmf.dll - the others will not adversly affect your clients - but should ideally be removed also.

Will advise as soon as we have some progress.
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.

Best regards

OK, thank you, but it does not seem to be a problem with redundant files (log from your pdfxsantool.exe is attached)

the fm30xmf.dll (creation date 18.06.2005 10:17) exists only one times.

Hi Armin,

once is enough - fm3oxmf.dll is now no longer used - but if it exists it causes issues with ixclib30.dll.
