SaveImagesFromPDF.exe - hang and crash samples.

Post by neilpitman » Wed Jun 22, 2005 9:14 pm

Attached are examples of two problems that appear within the SaveImageFromPDF SDK example. (Both 3.4 and 3.5)

The first file, hangloop.pdf appears to hang/loop on PDFXCp_ReadDocument whilst the second file, crash.pdf appears to cause a crash on PDFXCp_SaveImageFromPage.

Our application using the same calls exhibits similar behaviour - is there a way round these problems, or at least to trap the error?

Thanks

Hi,

Both problems are resolved here and will be avilable in build 84 released most likely Monday

With regards the File "hangsloops.pdf" specifically - this is a kind of "hybrid-reference" PDF document introduced in PDF spec.v. 1.5. (See PDF reference v1.5, Chapter 3.4.7, page 85). which in itself is not a problem - but you should be aware this file and its contents do not adhere 100% to the PDF specification and whilst we have added some tolerances within our library to allow it to be read in this case - we cannot guarentee to do this always - or so quickly.

Hope that helps.
