This Forum is for the use of Software Developers requiring help and assistance for Tracker Software's PDF-Tools SDK of Library DLL functions(only) - Please use the PDF-XChange Drivers API SDK Forum for assistance with all PDF Print Driver related topics.
According to your documentation, I must use your installer to install the required dlls on the end users system. After running the installer using silent mode, I see that the dlls are placed in the PDF-XChange/PDFSaver folder. Our application uses its own InstallShield application to deploy itself on our customer's systems. Should our InstallShield app then move the dlls to the Windows/System32 folder? Or perhaps to the folder that our application executes from?
Assuming you are not using our PDF-XChange SDK print driver (appears you are not) - then you do not need to use our own installer - but may distribute (wrapped in your own installer) the required library dll's that support the functions you have chosen to use - see the topic in the help file
PDFLib30Help.chm called 'Redistribution ...'
you will see a list of DLL's that may be distributed and the functionality use for which each is required.
These should be located with your app .exe rather than the \system32 folder as this can complicate future updates - particuarly if your also use our print driver now or in the future.
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.
That is correct,we are not using the print driver. We are using your library in one of our MFC applications to enable our application to SaveAs PDF. It appears that we need only 4 dlls: pxclib30, xccdx30, ixclib30 and dscrt30. Thanks for the clarification. We will distribute these dlls during installation to the system32 folder using InstallShield.
