Can't open PDF with PDFXCp_ReadDocument()

Post by MAXIMUS » Mon Jun 06, 2005 4:28 pm

I am experiencing an issue when I attempt to perform a PDFXCp_ReadDocument() on a certain PDF Document. I can open the document and view it with Adobe Acrobat, but when I want to read the PDF to watermark it, I get a error of: 0x82082712 which means "Document has not been read".

I have attached a zipfile containing the PDF document.

This can be tested by running the C# Demo project for visual studio.net 2003.

I assume there is something wrong with the PDF, but it doesn't seem to be corrupt.

Hi,

When viewed with an internal tool we use here for file checking this file reports :
Error [PDF Structure 35]: Invalid reference table (xref)
Have asked our DEV guys to look into and see if we can broaden the tolerance of the library - but it does seem there is an issue with the file structure itself.
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.

I can confirm there is an issue with the file you are trying to open and there is not a lot that we can do with this file for now.

We are working on a utility now that we hope will allow us to provide some ability to correct such files - but for now we have no means of doing so.

The best that I can suggest for now is that you advise the original developers of the producer of this file of the issue and ask them to correct the flaw in their product that creates such a file.
