pdfSaver - Don't Remove Temporary Files

Post by DISystemer » Mon Mar 21, 2011 3:14 pm

If you start pdfSaver with "/tweak /show" you can choose "Don't Remove Temporary Files" under Settings | Tweaks. However, every time you restart pdfSaver this setting is reset.

Is there a way to switch this setting permanent on?

Hello Arnstein By,

This setting is mainly used so that the said temp file could be copied and forwarded to us, and leaving this setting on could easily create a lot of unwanted temp files, and in most cases the temp is not needed as the final PDF is the better result to have :)

It would also be very problematic as the amount of disk space used would be very, very large and eventually this could cause you disk space issues - so we would caution against doing so anyway.

Best,
Stefan

Thanks, maybe I should describe the real problem instead: Some of our prints take some time to execute, and we have problems when a user starts a new print before the first one is finished. It seems that when the first job finishes it deletes
the temp file for both jobs and then the second job hangs.

If we enable "Don't Remove Temporary Files" both jobs works fine. The temp files are deleted the next time pdfSaver starts.

Is there anything we can do about this?

Regards,
Arnstein

Hello Arnstein,

I have asked our devs for help with this topic, but in the mean time, could you please confirm which version (and build) of our SDKs are you using, as you have posted in the ver3 SDK forums, and we are currently on ver4, and the comments and suggestions from the dev team would be based only on the current latest build and the functionality based in it.

Best,
Stefan

Thanks Arnstein,

I have asked the guy best suited to help to have a look in this topic and we will advise a bit later today, but once again - the solution or advise provided might be for ver4 only.

Best,
Stefan
