Installation issues - creating a Log of the installation

In the unlikely event you have installation problems and we request a log of the installation process to help us identify where the issue lies - please follow the instructions below and upload the files detailed (ZIPPED) as a reply to your original forum message.

Please do as follows:

Run the installer with this switch at the end of the command line '/L' - this will create 2 files as detailed.

For example from the start button on the Windows desktop - select the 'Run' command and enter the location of the file you wish to install as follow's: (For PDF-XChange PRO Version 3)

C:\PDFX3.exe /L

or

C:\PDFX4.exe /L

For PDF-XChange PRO Version 4 - etc.

The exact command will need to be altered depending on the version of PDF-XChange you install (Lite/Standard or PRO)

If created correctly both the files named below will be in your default PDF-XChange install folder.

Prninstaller.log
unins000.dat

For example:

C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\PDF-XChange 3 Pro

would be the correct folder

Then please zip both these files and upload so we can investigate why your install fails.

Also - Please advise if you are using 'Firewall', Anti-spyware or Antivirus software and which versions?

This seems to cause problems on a very few occasions and some users have found that disconnecting from any Internet or LAN connections briefly (to ensure that no malware can access) and then running the install resolves the problem.
