PDF-XChange Tools Report Procedure - Embedded Fonts

Post by jtdunn » Thu Apr 26, 2007 8:49 pm

I need to embed a font for use in a PDF that is being generated from my program. I have added the font to the fonts to force list. It does not appear to be working because if I remove the font from the \windows\fonts folder and print to the PDF the result does not use the embeded font. Which leads to the question: how can I tell if the font is properly embedded?

Hi,

When you View the PDF where you believe you have embedded the font - from our FREE Viewer (http://www.tracker-software.com/PDFXVwer.zip) Select the 'File -> Document Properties ->Fonts' option - it will indicate if the font is embedded or not - Likewise Adobe's reader offers a similar option to see the files font properties.

Feel free to zip and post an example here should you want us to check on your behalf.

Embedded Fonts

Thank you! That helped me find the problem in my code. I am dynamically loading the font in question from one of my font DLLs and had to use the AddEmbedFont method in my code to get it embedded in the PDF file.
