PDF attachment not included

Post by rob_bac » Fri Jun 07, 2013 10:03 am

Clarion 6.3.9055
PDFTools 4.0
Netlib 4.1

Hi,

Just informing if this maybe a known problem.
My app makes a PDF, which is attached to an Outlook message, the Outlook screen pops up, so the message can still be changed by the client before it gets send.

It all worked fine, until the client changed to SBS 2011 and Outlook 2013.

Now the first time the client takes this action, all is fine (PDF is attached), however every second and so forth time the Outlook screen pops up, but without the attached PDF.
You have to close the application to get it working again, but that's only one time!

Any known issues about this?
Regards,
Rob

Hi Rob!

No other reports of this. However, I will need some more information.

What version of Windows is running on the problem PC?

What version of Outlook is being used?

Please also send a copy of the generated CLW file that contains the PDF report and NetLib code.

Hi Graig,

Problem PC runs Windows7 Professional
Outlook version 2013

The clw file is included, it's a Fomin RunTimeReport procedure.

The PDF file is always made, only thing it's not included second time and so on.

Regards,
Rob

Hi Rob!

Thanks for the info but I do not see the CLW file.

You have to use the Upload Attachment tab below the message box to add the file.

Thanks!

Hi Rob!

One thing I noticed, although I can't say for certain this is your problem, is this line:

Code: Select all

PDFXTR5.Init(SELF.Report, GLO:EmailFileName,GLO:EmailFileName)
I believe GLO:EmailFileName is incorrect in the second position, which is an optional folder name field specified on the Global Template. Please go to your PDF-Tools Global template General tab and delete the contents of the Default Folder Name field.

Specifying GLO:EmailFileName as the Default Folder will cause an attempted concatenation of the bogus folder with GLO:EmailFileName as the file name. This could certainly cause you problems.
