x64 Compatibility

Post by jcooper01 » Tue Oct 07, 2008 6:44 pm

We have an application that uses the 3.0 API and has been working well for years. One of our customers upgraded to an x64-based server and installed the latest 3.0 API driver on it. The print driver functions, but the pxc30com.dll is not found by the applications as a registered COM control (even though I have used revsvr32 and registered it successfully). What do we need to do here? This is a critical issue for this customer.

I suspect you will need to upgrade to Vewrsion 4 of the PDF-XChange Drivers SDK to sort this issue - is your app 32 or 64 bit ?
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.

Out app is 32-bit. What's involved in the upgrade? Is there upgrade pricing available (or can we use the same registration key)? Are there major SDK differences?

If you go to our website and register with your serial number http://www.tracker-software.com/login/register this will show you all the upgrade options available to you.

You can also download the evaluation SDK and check out the changes etc and even build your app ready for distribution - but a new serial/key and devcode will be required to generate 'clean' PDF's without a watermark - your existing license info will not function for this purpose.

Latest downloads are available here :

Hope that helps

My application can't instantiate the new COM object for some reason. I get a message saying that it can't be instantiated. The error lists the GUID and the component name. I tried on a Vista PC and an XP PC.

Hi,

Can you confirm that you are now using V4 and if so - can you provide more detailed information - did the ActriveX for example install when installed the SDK ?

Also please confirm Admin rights are available etc

also would be better to post any follow up here :

Thanks

One more question? Which programming language do you use? VB, C/C++, etc ?

Please check if the examples provided with the V4 SDK work properly?
