Problems merging 2 landscape PDFs
Posted: Mon Dec 03, 2007 2:11 pm
I'm trying to merge two PDFs in landscape format. As a result I correctly get a PDF in landscape format but the second document is merged in portrait format into it.
I haven't found a parameter for setting portrait/landscape
I read the document like this
res = PXCp_ReadDocumentW(PDF, StrConv(strNavigationTemplate, vbUnicode), 0)
Dim objContentPlaceInfo As PXCp_ContentPlaceInfo
objContentPlaceInfo.Alignment = CPA_HorLeft
objContentPlaceInfo.DestPage = 0
objContentPlaceInfo.SrcPage = 0
and merge it like this
res = PXCp_PlaceContents(PDF1, PDF2, 1, objContentPlaceInfo, 0)

btw there also seems to be a memory leek in the merging funktion. After round about 2000 PDFs excel fails with not enough memory and it's impossible to save anything.

I'm afraid I will need your code which calls PXCp_XXX function for checking memory leaks if they are.

We will begin uploading in approx 1 hour - so I suggest you wait approx 4 hours as the whole process is quite lengthy due to the number of differing installation files for differing purposes we must upload

Sorry, but attached file was not created by PDF-XChange.

It was actually created with pdf-xchange. Only the template which is merged to the other page was created with Adobe Acrobat because of the Buttons.
I can send you the Excel VBA code to create this file yourself .

Yes, please send this code, and original PDFs.

Just extract everything to c:\tracker open the excel sheet and hit create pdf

The problem is you have more than one copies of the PDF-XChange DLLs -- the file you sent (error.pdf) was created by build 0124, but not the build 0128 where this trouble was fixed. So, just check all places where DLLs are located (Excel uses PATH environment to find DLLs) and replace them with latest build you have.
Attached file is the file created by 0128 build.
