Releasing the API version
What is the release date of the API version.
On this moment we are close to the end date of our new software release and when we are noing the difference between version 3 and 4 of the API version. It can be implement before our new release is shipped to the market.

API version
Hello,
Will the v4 API-version solve the problem with the ActiveX-object pcxcom30.dll on 64 bit systems? When can we see some sample scripts?
Greetings,
Herold Winter

Hello,
It has been approximate 15 days now since the last post. We need to support PDF output with our application (VB6) in a 64 bit environment soon. Thus we are eagerly waiting for some samples or version 4 SDK of PDF-X-Change. When can we see some information regarding this?
Greetings,

Hi Herold,
The help file will be available later today and I would 'guess' maybe 7 days or so before release - I am sorry its taking some time - but the end user release absorbed far more of our time than expected - as well as some lengthy issues preparing the new Viewer/Viewer SDK release out today.

Thanks for the documentation.
Reading this documentation i have 2 questions:
1 - Can i use the versie 3 Driver API messages with version 4.
2 - On this moment some customers of us use the full enduser version and not PDFX3SA_sm, can i use the IPXCPrinter and IPXCControlEx object with the enduser version without installing PDFX4SA_sm.

Hi Harry,
1. no, the V4 API does not use messaging and you will therefore need to re-code your application - to use the ActiveX and the functions provided.
2. The API is available in the Standard/PRO end-user drivers also and thus you can distribute those builds in place of the developer installer - as with Version 3 - the developer API functions are not available in the Lite release of PDF-XChange.
Hope that helps

Arent these scripts just standard VBscript with a bit special sauce for the SAM Cast API?
You should be able to use all the standard VBscipt commands including CreateObject.
This is sample code copied from stackoverflow about how to create a HTTP GET request with VBScript.
