Post by vjauregui » Thu Jan 10, 2008 9:18 pm

When I try to install the tiff x-change.msi file I am receiving the following error "the configuration data for this product is corrupt". Does any one have a clue on how to fix this issue?

Hi,

Sorry - I am confused - we do not offer an MSI install for TIFF-XChange ?

Do you mean the exe ?

Also - please advise what Windows OS you are installing too - if your are atempting to install to a 64 BIT os - this is not Supported.

For 64 bit Opertaing Systems you should see our Raster-XChange products.
If posting files to this forum - you must archive the files to a ZIP, RAR or 7z file or they will not be uploaded - thank you.

Hi,

We have tried to reproduce this problem on 2 seperate machines - but cannot all works correctly.

The last resort is to ask you to please make a log file by adding the switch : /L to the installer command line - for example :

C:\TIFFX3.exe /L

If created correctly both the files named below will be in your default TIFF-XChange install folder.

Prninstaller.log
unins000.dat

Please zip and send the 2 files to us and we will try and establish why you have this error.

thanks

Hi,

TIFF3.exe is the install file itself - you would have downloaded TIFF3.zip (end user installer) or TIFFX3SDK.zip (if you downloaded the SDK) from our site to download - inside of which is the file TIFF3.exe - which is the file you run to actually install TIFF-XChange.

If you no longer have this file - please downlaod http://www.tracker-software.com/TIFFX3.zip and follow the instructions previously given to create the log file.

Thanks

That seems to have resolved the issue. Could you email me another tiffx3.exe but one with out the water mark? The one we have must be corrupt.

Hi,

all versions have the Watermark until you re-install and copy/paste your serial number (From your purchase email/receipt) into the installer when requested to do so - this then removes the watermark on all newly generated TIFF files - unless you are a software developer and then your license info must be embedded into your source code and your application recompiled - as explained in our help files/Doc's

I am trying to convert an MSWord doc but it comes up with a Microsoft Visual Basic message box saying Ambiguous name detected: TmpDDE

Have you seen this error before?

Sorry - but i have just seen that you are using 64 bit Windows - TIFF-XChange is 32 bit only.

If you need 64 bit - you must use Raster-XChange.

I was able to get past the error but the water mark is still appearing on the image even with our unlock key in the code. We can provide you with the unlock key if you like. Thanks for your help

Please email your serial number to :

usrfiles@tracker-software.com and advise MOST IMPORTANTLY specifically what version of Windows you are running and from what software/version you are attempting to print from.

thanks

Hi,

I am sorry - we dont appear to have received the info below - could you please resend and ensure you have TIFF-XChange in the subject line to bypass our psam filters whic are fairly aggressive these days to the large volumes of junk we have to filter each day.

I have already replied I suspect to one of the nuemrous emails I believe you sent overnight ?

Please confirm if you are a software developer or end user - because the serial number you have is for the developer's version.
