Rounding Errors and Paper Setup SOLVED
PDF-XChange Printer Lite helped this user to make a smaller PDF for Create Space, but it raises a few questions. Does self-publishing come under home use or does one need a license for this? Why the rounding errors when entering dimensions in inches? 6.14" x 9.21" instead of mm 156 x 234. ...

Re: PNG to PDF to PNG: from 1.5MB to 37.5MB
I'm still puzzled though by the difference in size when saving from an optimized PDF as JPG (2MB) versus PNG (20MB, even with a compression ratio of 10) PNG compression is lossless, i.e. no information from the original is discarded. JPG compression is lossy, i.e. image information is discarded. Wi...

Re: 3-5 Second delay in opening a new document
It's definitely worth diagnosing problems because if you do some task 100 times a day, the seconds add up. A delay of 15 seconds or longer to launch a program is significant. I have done extensive comparative testing on searching PDF files for text , and for loading multiple documents. I can load 50...

Re: 3-5 Second delay in opening a new document
For me, PDF-XChange Editor takes about 7 seconds to open a 13 page 1.4 Mbyte PDF file from a cold start, and about 1 second from a warm start. File size makes no noticeable difference. A file of 159 Mbytes opens just as fast as one of 1.4 Mbytes. By way of comparison, PDF-XChanger Viewer took only 3...

Still the same behaviour that I noted before.
The Left/Right buttons skip two pages in facing pages mode, as does PageUp/Down, but Ctrl Left/Right still skip just one page, so it takes two shortcuts to get to the next pair of pages.

MathJax looks interesting, but I don't see how plain text notes are going to know how to render math formulae from markup.
You could export the formula as a graphic or take a screen shot and paste that into the PDF. I think that would be a practical solution.
