So as Dan said above - we can not make any promises that this would be implemented for now. We will keep an eye on the number of times this feature gets requested and might reconsider in the future!

The assignment of objects to a specific layer requires that you navigate through a context menu - which then displays the list of available layers - so there is no shortcut that can be assigned to a specific layer (even if it is the latest created).

Hello rakunavi, I do not think there's an alternative way to select that control point other than zooming in, and if you then place that point at the dead centre at max zoom level - there are no further options to modify that one any further. But then - there has to be a compromise between these two...

Glad that you found a solution that works for you!
Most likely the original document is security protected and not allowing modifications to it, but allowing printing. That's why you can't modify the original, but can the printed copy.
