Although it's many years since I actually paid for software I could be tempted by v3, depending on the price and upgrade route, just to support it.

Looks like the latter way as I've tried many PDF printers and the current one is by far the most useable that I've found.
I'll give yours a try anyway.

URLs in PDFs
When printing to PDF with pdfFactory, plain URLs are 'live' in the PDF but those that have been altered to be just a name etc. aren't. I realise that a full URL has a recognisable format but wondered if there's any way of printing a PDF so that PDF-XChange Viewer could 'see' it.

Couple of things: Alt-Tab is used to change between open apps. (in Windows at least); Tab and Shift-Tab are used to move forward and backward in fields. It's not only form fields - Typewriter is the same. Going to another app. to look at or copy text, for instance, means having to double-click on the typing box to get back in. Going from typing this to PDF-X and back, or going to another tab in Opera and typing in a reply field there, doesn't lose t...

Now I see what's happening! I tend to select the files and hit Enter to open them and they open out of order. Interesting difference in speed and memory. I had to have a go, so went for 50 files totalling 58MB; most have some graphics in. Took 55s and 240MB of RAM to open, then ~2s to close them all. Unlike most 'updated' GUIs, this one is quite subtle in the changes. My first impression was simply that something had changed and, having looked at it a bit, I can't be bothered to mod. it at all. The most important point for me is that the icons are recognisable - they aren't so 'modern' that they...

Re: Unexpected/unusual 'Save AS' behaviour
That doesn't really help. When I Save As, I change the File Name to reflect the new purpose so, if the new file is open then the new File Name should be shown.
It's just a bit long-winded to Save As, then go to the new file and open it. In Word etc. the new file is the one open after Save As.

Something similar with a calendar: just 3x4 months with 1pt. line between the months and the line printed at about 10pt.
I no longer have the file as I'd printed a couple of copies then deleted it.
Have noticed this once or twice in the last few months.
Version 44 - 47; printer Kyocera FS-1900.

I had this on the last build; just tried with 41.3 and it's the same.
The Save upon closing was a relief as I'd added several (non-contextual) boxes so there would have been significant work in replicating them.
Even adding some other item doesn't reactivate Save.

The Text Box has to be in typing mode, not just selected as a box. The easiest way to ensure this is to select some of the text in it and R-click, then select text Formatting.
Took me a while to realise this.
