at least the zip archive from the download page contains an exe installer, which installs the correct version (32/64 bit) according to your system. Probably the exe installer from this page does the same.

I've been searching for a long time for a cheap and easy to use solution to get my (and other) scanned pdfs searchable. And now it's integrated in my favorite pdf reader - for free :D

You're right, some certs were issued for well known sites without checking the identity. They could be used for faking a websites identity. According to Comodo, all "malicious" certificates were revoked, so they shouldn't validate with OCSP enabled and major browser vendors did update their internal...

I don't think, that a translation of these rather technical terms would be helpful for users. Please have a look at the German Wikipedia article. There's a description of the boxes. As headlines, the English terms are used, while Adobes German translations are mentioned in the description.

I also added a translation for the "Select Another File" option, but since it isn't shown on my system, I can't test it. You can import the settings also via command line:

So you can write a script to run this commands automatically after installing the viewer.

Maybe you got the wrong download after purchasing the product.
The free and pro version is the same - there's no need to reinstall PDF-XChange Viewer.
Just go to Edit -> Preferences -> Registration and enter your serial and the PRO functions will be unlocked in your working version.

Maybe the tool OpenWithAdd may help you. The problem description seems to fit. But it wasn't designed for Windows 7.

Thank you for the more detailed information. So the error probably occurs while the installer is searching for other products installed.
I think using the portable version is probably the best thing to do in an emulator.

File -> Document properties, Security section. Choose "Password Security", check "Require a password to change permissions for the document", set a password and select below, which things should be allowed for any user and which will be protected.
