The Screen Shot actually says that the error is ATL 12.00, not ALT 12.00, but I have no clue what it means. Apparently something unique to your setup. Try minimising all other programs except Internet Explorer, then click outside the PDF file as before. I see no errors here with the PDF-XChange Plug...

It is best to do this from Windows Explorer. You can see at least the first page in the Preview Pane. If you want to see more, then double-click to check it in PDF-XChange, then close it.

If a file is already open, then it's protected from moving, renaming, or deleting.

Drag the bottom of the Toolbar up to reduce it to a single row, or resize the Window to reduce the width.

The text will show if there's enough space for it, otherwise it won't.

Agreed. This should be a simple thing to fix. A border of a few pixels serves no useful purpose when PDF-XChange Editor is maximised, but the scroll bar is much easier to select if the border is not there. PDF-XChange viewer already behaves in this way.

Yes. You can put the controls on a different toolbar. I have mine on the Menu Bar (at the bottom).

Right-click on any toolbar to open the Customise dialogue. While you're there, assign a shortcut key to Customize Toolbars on the Commands Tab. There's a search field to find commands quickly.

There is an RSS Feed on the download page, but the updates are not announced on it. That seems like a major oversight.

It seems much more important to let users know about program updates than about a 7 hour mail server outage, or routine site maintenance.

However, it won't help you if the application crashes before you have exited — it will restart with the previous session that was saved when you last exited normally, opting to close all open documents.

In my opinion, the OCR should always decompose ligatures.

If ligature fi is used in OpenType fonts, the text string is actually f i not the Alphabetic Presentation form fi.

Leaving the ligatures in the text stream will only cause problems — I cannot think of a single benefit.

No. It doesn't scroll down however long I wait, and the mouse does nothing.

The last line is Tesseract OCR Engine.

The text in the Viewer Splash screen does scroll automatically after a delay of about 15 seconds, but not in the Editor.

There's a Go button at bottom right, to go to the Copyright URL. On Windows 7 125% fonts and icons medium setting, the button is too close to the border and is cut off by it.

If you resize the image using the corner handles, the image's aspect ratio is retained.

I see no way to distort it. An option to do that with Shift might be useful, but is really not necessary.

It could not be any easier.

Open the Thumbnails pane (Ctrl T) and drag and drop the pages to any order. This feature is also available in the Free version.

I don't think there is. The Viewer wastes and entire toolbar just to show the image dimensions.

It would be good to have a field in the Customise dialogue that can be added to any toolbar.

Currently in the Editor the page size is shown in Document Properties (Ctrl D).

It's still there on the Edit menu — export settings and import settings.

The Editor is quite different to the Viewer, the settings are not compatible.

No such problem here. I can start selecting text with the mouse, then continue using the keyboard with Shift + Down to extend the selection. The focus does not move. No problem in continuous page mode or facing pages mode either. Hold shift before moving the down cursor to avoid losing the selection...

I have updated the source file for my Custom Stamps to include stamps for today's date. At least you could create your own stamps from that on a daily basis.

Resize the toolbar by dragging the bottom up so that it fits to one row. Text labels will disappear if there's not enough space on the row to show them — otherwise they will be shown.

I don't see the problem here. Double-click while holding the shift key ends the polygon, though it won't close it to join the first node, if that's what you're looking for.
